A warm
welcome is important. So we
planned a standing cocktail for
registered participants and accompanying
persons to take
place on Sunday, 15 July at
Hotel Porto Rio.
Buses will depart from hotels (Achaia
Beach, Tzaki, Florida, Rodini) at 7:00PM
so that delegates will have the time to
register prior to the welcome reception.
Everyone is cordially welcome to mingle,
meet old friends, make new acquaintances
and enjoy a delicious finger buffet
accompanied by wine and refreshments. |

The
cost of the Welcome Reception is included
in the Symposium's Fees.

The
organising committee has arranged for a
Technical visit, by coach, to the Rio-Antirio
Bridge and Exhibition Centre for all
those (registered
participants and accompanying persons)
who wish to see this magnificent
landmark from up-close and to get
introduced to its various construction
stages.
The night will still be very young after
this interesting visit, so we will head
for the picturesque
old Venetian Castle
of Nafpaktos
(Lepanto), where we will have a light
dinner ("mezes"), accompanied by large
quantities of local wine.
We hope you will enjoy this romantic
sea-front setting as it combines the
charming atmosphere of an old
establishment with the exquisite
assortment of familiar traditional Greek
dishes. |

Buses will depart from Symposium hotels at 8:00PM. |
For the
Symposium's official banquet we will be

the

located on a hill near the University of
Patras. A
vast array of beautifully-cooked,
traditional Greek dishes will be paraded
before us and as different items come
and go, you may sample the ones that
take your fancy. An open air stage
will be setup for us and a local dance
group in original - costumes will
introduce us to the traditional
spirit of Greek folklore dances,
accompanied by live music performance.
We intend to offer an unforgettable
entertainment, a truly bonding
experience for all those who will honour
us with their presence. |
